Minnesota House passes bill for 100 percent carbon-free electricity by 2050
The Minnesota House of Representatives passed a bill which places the state on a path to 100% carbon-free electricity by the year 2050. This bill will expand opportunities for low-income families and rural communities to participate in the state’s successful community solar programs.
SunShare’s CEO, David Amster-Olszewski, who has helped propel some of this legislation forward, had this to say:
This important legislation is the result of decades of hard work from renewable energy stakeholders across Minnesota. Community solar and renewable energy are truly bipartisan efforts, and it is encouraging to see Minnesotans coming together to bring a cleaner, brighter future for our state with a strong commitment to 100 percent carbon-free energy.
